With concerns around the coronavirus growing, many of the places dancers hold dearest, from theaters to studios, are shutting down. And it's all happening just before what's usually our favorite time of year: recital season.
But if you've been prepping something *amazing* in the studio, don't give up on performing it for an audience just yet! Our favorite dance lover (and honorary Cindy) Jennifer Garner has asked performers everywhere to share work that might not see the stage on social media.
Garner wants performing artists of all stripes—actors, singers, musicians, and, of course, dancers—to post their performances and tag them #heyjenlookatme, so she can watch and share all of the amazing art happening across the country. (Garner's project, as she noted, is similar to what Broadway and TV star Laura Benanti is doing for would-be high school musical stars with #SunshineSongs.)
Garner has already posted a bunch of her favorite submissions on her Instagram story, for all her 8.7 million followers to see. Talk about an audience! And all of us at Dance Spirit have had so much fun looking through the posts that we decided to gather a collection of our fave dancy #heyjenlookatme videos below.
